A Woman in a Man’s world!

It’s 1:44 Am as I start penning my first ever blog. It’s what I’d call a ‘follow my heart and jump right in‘ moment for me. As I’ve seen more often than not, following the unknown leads to experiences unexpected! So here I go, jumping Into the unknown again. Not without the loving encouragement of my bestie, actor & Producer Kanica Maheshwari, who was the first to suggest I start blogging.

So … Can ‘She’ be a Woman in a Man’s world? A couple days ago, I read about the Jaina Thirthankara Mallibai, who is known through history as Mallinath. Her identity as an enlightened woman has been fully suppressed and replaced with a false identity of an enlightened man. This really shook me up to the core and apart from purging the pain of the woman, made me reflect on the acceptability of the empowered woman today – what is her face? Rather, what face is accepted in our society today? As an empowered woman of today it is relevant not just to me but to all women out there, because we ARE empowered whether the society accepts it or not. The question is do we as women accept it ourselves?

The woman who has empowered herself through embodying her masculine qualities is being accepted more & more by the society. It is creditable, no doubt, But …. The woman who has empowered herself through embodying her feminine qualities is still not accepted by the society 😔. When she is logical, practical, strong & of achieving mind; she is valued just like the man. But ….When she is nurturing, compassionate, spiritual, loving & devoted; she has no value because those feminine qualities are meaningless in the materialistic world. However, feminine qualities are the qualities of God consciousness. She has an abundance of that which is truly meaningful. The qualities that can pave the path to higher experiences. Regardless …

‘She’ must conform to the man’s society and bury herself, because when she is in her feminine element, she is ‘Too much’ for the society. In a man-made world, the survival of the woman is a miracle in itself. Her unconditional love has been her survival. Despite her suppression, she continues to love unconditionally & Love is God. God surely has a special place in ‘His’ heart for the woman! ‘He’ has protected her. Only ‘He’ has loved her for all the Love she gives. Maybe Man is incapable of Loving the woman like God does but surely it is time to accept that ‘She’ need not become a Man to find her place in this world.

I’m sure ‘She’ wonders if ‘She’ Can truly be a woman in a Man’s world? Maybe she can, maybe not; But the world doesn’t really belong to the Man, only society does. The world belongs to existence, to God. ‘She’ can be a Woman in God‘s world. Her empowerment is in her ability to jump into the unknown & light the path for the Man to follow. ‘She’ is the path to the New Man.

  1. Firstly I would say congratulations on starting to write a blog. This particular piece itself is so very well penned down. Crisp, to the point, simple to digest and with enough subtleness. I personally loved it.
Being a Jain and having been raised into a Jain family with Jain values imparted on me, I had a lot of curiousity from childhood about the religion. I had heard and done some research regarding “Tirthankar Mallinath” when I was probably a teenager.
I have a few other thoughts on this subject which I would love to discuss but I also agree to what you are trying to come at through this article.
Loved to the core what you said “the world doesn’t really belong to the Man, only society does”. In the end it is us as “human” who have to accept the existence of humans without any gender discrimination I feel.
Lastly, I agree she did not need to become a man to be accepted by the world but that was the world who considered that a Tirthankar can only be a man and she proved everyone wrong and fought her way to achieve the Moksha. That’s what is commendable and makes me believe that women were empowered back then as well and had the strength to go against the odds.

    1. Thank you Jay for taking the time to encourage what existence is doing through me 🙏🏻
Yes I agree with you, Mallibai was a true rebel and so she stood with her feminine qualities to attain that which was concluded was not possible in a woman’s body; but she was not accepted as a woman since her demise. Her story is only a reference of the empowered woman of today, who herself believes that for a place in the world she must compete with Man. What I’m attempting to say here is that there is no competition or comparison. They both have a role and a purpose. A woman can be empowered through her intrinsic feminine qualities too.

It’s always heartwarming to receive understanding from a man for such a topic. Thank you again 🙏🏻
